According to informations coming from Chittagong, three container ships managed by German companies have just been put on sale on the demolition market. These three vessels are the joint property of KGAL, based in Germany, the largest European maritime leasing* company, and subsidiary of Allianz and Dresdner Bank, and of V Ships Germany, subsidiary of V Ships Monaco, the largest manager of commerce vessels in the world.

Na enkele maanden van onderhandeling zijn de overeenkomsten voor de financiering van NV Ecodock’s eerste scheepsontmantelingswerf getekend. De 64 miljoen kostende werf zal worden gebouwd in de Eemshaven en is daarmee ’s werelds eerste milieuvriendelijke werf voor het ontmantelen van schepen, platforms en overige maritieme vaartuigen. De werf in de Eemshaven zal in eerste instantie werk bieden aan circa 100 mensen.
After several months of negotiation, the agreements for the funding of NV Ecodock’s first ship dismantling yard have been signed. The 64 million euro yard will be built in Eemshaven and will therefore be the world’s first environmentally-friendly yard for the dismantling of ships, platforms and other maritime vessels. The yard in Eemshaven will initially provide work for around 100 people.
